Obituary
Quick

A dark gloom spread over this whole community Tuesday of last week when it was whispered from one to another that Mrs. C.O. Quick had passed away. Although it was known that she had been ailing for some time, and that the end was gradually nearing, her passing away was keenly felt by a large number of friends.

She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that her friendship circle was a large one. Indeed it may be said of her that none knew her but to love her. She was a faithful member of the Swedish Lutheran Church of this place and up to the time of her illness was an active member in the Luther League. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and she never faltered in waiting upon those who were dependent upon her. Though she has gone to that better land she has made an excellent record and one that will remain as a lasting treasure.

Mrs. Olga Olivia Quick (born Johanson) was born in Åsbo Parish, Östergötland, Sweden, January 24, 1884 and passed away July 20, 1909, at the age of 25 years, 5 months and 27 days. Mrs. Quick came to this country ten years ago. She was united in marriage to C.O. Quick, January 1, 1907, to which union one son was born.

Funeral services were held Sunday forenoon at 10 o'clock at the residence and at 11 o'clock at the South Marion Church conducted by Rev. O.R. Palm. Touching songs were rendered by the choir. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, consisting of a funeral bouquet given by the Luther League. At the close of these solemn services the large number of friends gathered were permitted to look for the last time upon the face of the departed, then the sad cortege moved on to the South Marion Cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest. A loving husband and baby son, and aged father in Sweden, relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn her death.
