Mrs. J.O. Quick Called Home

Mrs. Anna Lovisa Quick, one of the pioneer settlers of this community, passed away Thursday, October 8, 1914, at the home of her son, C.O. Quick, after a couple months' illness, at the ripe old age of 80 years, 10 months and 13 days. She had been in poor health for many years and for the past seven years she has been taken care of by her daughter, Miss Selma Quick.

Anna Lovisa Peterson was born in Vestra Harg socken, Linkopings lan, Ostergotland, Sweden, November 25, 1833. She was united in marriage to J.O. Quick on March 24, 1860, and they came to this country November 24, 1868, locating in Webster County. In 1874 they moved to a farm four miles south of Stratford, where they resided continuously for thirty-one years, moving to Stratford in 1905, where she resided until the spring of this year when she again went to the farm home to reside with her son, C.O. Quick, where she passed away.

Six children were born to this union – three girls and three boys – all of whom have grown to womanhood and manhood and are residing in this community. Her husband preceded her to the better land March 27, 1913. She leaves to mourn her departure three sons and three daughters, one sister, one brother, ten grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held at the C.O. Quick residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C.A. Callerstrom, pastor of the Lutheran church, and the remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in South Marion Cemetery.
