Gerald Pritchard

STRATFORD - Gerald J. Pritchard, 65, Stratford, died Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford; Rev. Dale Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery southeast of Stratford. Visitation at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford will be from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Gerald J. Pritchard, son of Orville and Flossie (Butrick) Pritchard, was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Sac County, Iowa. He married Lillie Florea in 1960 in Fairmont, Minn. From 1975-1981, he managed and operated restaurants in the Stratford and Dayton areas.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie, Stratford; three sons, Steve Pritchard, Tracy Pritchard and Gary Pritchard, all of Stratford; six daughters, Sherry Swanson, Las Vegas, Nev.; Penny Drake, Sandy Hobbs and Paullette Guill, all of Texas; Julie Pritchard and Kelly Peterson, both of Stratford; his mother, Flossie Pritchard, Callendar; four sisters, Mardella Hunter, Clarinda; Wanda Moeller, Omaha, Neb.; Joann Brown, Murrieta, Calif.; and Karen Brook, Guthrie Center; four brothers, Dave Pritchard, Otho; Tom Pritchard and Carmon Pritchard, both of Callendar; and Marion Pritchard, Murrieta, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, two grandsons and a brother.
