POMEROY

STRATFORD - Ida M. Pomeroy, 90, West Des Moines, died Dec. 25, 1988, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1898, in rural Stratford the daughter of Edwin and Anna (Borg) Hall. She married Dr. M.E. Pomeroy Oct. 2, 1920, in Boone.

Pomeroy assisted her husband at his veterinary clinic. The couple moved to Indianola in 1958 and moved to West Des Moines in 1982. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Royal Neighbors and Order of Eastern Star, Avon Chapter, Stratford. She was a member of the Indianola American Red Cross Chapter and was a volunteer at Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Bud Hook of Urbandale; three grandchildren, Lurea Ferry, Bettendorf, and Lynn Martin and Lee Hook, both of Des Moines; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 7 to 9 tonight and at the church on Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 8:30 tonight.
