Weldon Peterson

Weldon Peterson, 54, of Rt. 1, Stratford, died at the Boone County Hospital on Friday, June 13. He was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Hamilton County the son of John and Edith [Crouse] Peterson.

On May 14, 1945, he married Lois Conklin at Webster City. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stratford, the Sonksen Post of the American Legion in Stratford, was a veteran of World War II, and was presently a member of the board of directors for the Stratford Mutual Telephone Company.

Precededing him in death were his parents and one brother Denzel, in 1968. Survivors include his wife, Lois; a daughter, Trudy; a son, Brett; a brother, Delbert Peterson, all of Stratford; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, June 16, at the Stratford Baptist Church with Rev. Haring and Rev. McCoy officiating. Burial was in South Marion Cemetery south of Stratford.

Graveside services were conducted by the Sonksen Post of the American Legion, with Hanson Stark Welin Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Lynn and Lyle Peterson, Dale Conklin, Clark Conklin, Carmen Conklin, Richard Jones, and Ronnie Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Art Sturtz sang, with Margaret Erickson at the organ.
