Pauline L. Peterson, 81, formerly of 831 Dryden Street, Stratford, Iowa, passed away at the Stratford Care Center in Stratford on Thursday morning, August 7, 1997, due to congestive heart failure. She had been a resident at the Stratford Care Center since September of 1992.

She was born on January 3, 1016 in Stratford, Iowa, the daughter of J.W. and Edith (Hagstrom) Shoberg.

On August 13, 1933 she married Marvin LuVerne Peterson at the Methodist Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

Pauline attended country school and Stratford public school. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, serving on the board of directors, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Avon Chapter #504 of Stratford, and Magi Chapter #139 of Boone, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin in 1980, one son, Eugene Peterson, one sister, Ruby Carlstedt, one brother, Carlos Shoberg, two grandsons, Mitchell Eugene Peterson and Shane Lamont Stolte, one daughter-in-law, Patty Ann Peterson, and one great-grandson, Jeremy Davis.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Marvalene and Darrell Anderson of Stratford, Iowa, Sandy and Paul Stolte of Madrid, Iowa, Sharon and David Fruechtenicht of Honolulu, HA, ten grandchildren, Wade and Todd Peterson, Kerry and Karla Anderson, Kelli Davis, Shawn, Kory and Jason Stolte, Rhiannon and Ryan Moller, one sister, Wilma Carnell of Stratford, eight great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Monday, August 11, 1997 at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford, Iowa.

Interment was in South Marion Cemetery, southeast of Stratford.
