Marvin L. Peterson, 67, life-long Stratford resident died at the Stratford Care Center Saturday morning.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Richard Russell officiating and with burial in the South Marion Cemetery. Graveside services were given by the Masonic Lodge, Acorn Chapter 601. Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline of Stratford; three daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Marveline) Anderson of Stratford; Mrs. Paul (Sandy) Stolte, Jr., rural Madrid, and Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Moeller of Stanhope; one son, Eugene, of Dows; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Donald of Algona and Vern of Wathena, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Kail of Pollock Pines, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.

He was born Aug. 18, 1913, the son of Elmer and Gertie [McFarland] Peterson. On Aug. 13, 1933, he was married to Pauline Shoberg, in the Des Moines Methodist Church.

He farmed in the Stratford area until 1975 when he moved to town. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star of Stratford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren and one daughter-in-law.
