George Peterson, Stratford, Dies

STRATFORD (Special) - George William Peterson, 69, a long time resident of Stratford, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Knoxville Veterans Hospital, following a lingering illness. He was a former trucker and a Veteran of World War I. He had been a patient of the hospital since about 1942.

Survivors include his widow, Florence; two children, William of Stratford and Mrs. Phyllis Christensen of Humboldt, and two sisters, Mrs. Dwight Anderson of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Fred Watts of Great Falls, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at 2 p. m. in Calvary Methodist Church. The Rev. Harold Olson will officiate, and burial will be in South Marion Cemetery with the Hanson Funeral Home in charge.

Friends may call at the Hanson Funeral Home at Stratford from Friday noon until Saturday noon when the body will be taken to the church.
