Roger Patterson, 42, rural Stanhope, died June 16, 1994 at his home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the South Marion United Methodist Church, south of Stratford, with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Interment will be in the South Marion Cemetery, southeast of Stratford. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Roger Patterson, son of Loren and Evelyn (Anderson) Patterson, was born Sept. 10, 1951 in Ames. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1969.

On June 2, 1972 he married Debra Iles at the McGuire Bend United Brethren Church, northwest of Stratford. He was engaged in farming.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; daughter, Monica Patterson of Stanhope; son, Aaron Patterson of Stanhope; parents, Loren and Evelyn Patterson of Stratford; grandmother, Clara Anderson of Boone; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlan and Karen Patterson of Norwalk, Wayne and Barbara Patterson of Ellsworth and Rodney and Dee Patterson of Stanhope; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Kevin Weldy of Elkhart, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a former member of the Air National Guard of Fort Dodge.
