STRATFORD - Mrs. Esther G. Patterson, 78, a former Stratford resident, died at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone Wednesday evening. She had been residing there since January, 1976.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the South Marion United Methodist church with the Rev. Floyd M. Garrett officiating and with burial in South Marion cemetery south of Stratford. Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home in Stratford on Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church.

Survivors include three sons, Ivan of Callender, Iowa, Wendell of Story City and Burton of Stratford; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Rosella Johnson of Spicer, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1967; and one sister.

She was born Nov. 7, 1898 in Grove City, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustaf and Amanda Monson.

On June 8, 1927 she married Fred A. Patterson of Stratford at her parents' home in rural Grove City, Minn.

She was a housewife; a member of the South Marion United Methodist church, the American Legion Auxiliary of Stratford and was active in the Senior Citizens group, and various church organizations.
