Mrs. Oppedahl, 80, Dies, Stratford

Mrs. J.O. Oppedahl, 80, lifetime resident of the Stratford-Dayton community died Monday morning at her home in Stratford after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Oppedahl was born on March 20, 1871 on a farm near Dayton.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Lloyd of Kunney, Ill., and Gilbert of Boone, Ia.; three daughters, Mrs. August [Vernice] Siemsen of Schleswig, Ia., Mrs. Herman [Iva] Headlund of Winterset, Ia., and Mrs. H.W. [June] Peterson of Muncie, Ind.; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Jackson funeral home at Stratford with Rev. Stanley Peterson of the Baptist church officiating. Burial will be at South Marion cemetery.
