Clifford Nostrom Dies on Sunday

Clifford V. Nostrom, 60, 1213 Benton street, died early Sunday morning, May 24 in the Boone county hospital.

A life long resident of Boone county, Mr. Nostrom had lived in Boone for 33 years and operated a corn shelling business. He had not been well for some time but his death was quite sudden.

Survivors include his widow Hazel, a daughter, Kay Marie at home; his mother, Mrs. Matilda Nostrom at the Evangelical Free Church home; 2 brothers, Lennis of Plymouth and Maurice, Humboldt and two sisters, Mrs. V.L. Shelley and Mrs. Gladys Shelley, both of Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. from the Welin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J. Stanley Schmidt in charge. Burial will be in South Marion cemetery. Friends may call at the Welin Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services for Clifford Vernon Nostrom were held at the Welin Memorial Chapel, Boone, Iowa, May 26, 1964 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Stanley Schmidt in charge. LaVerne Alsin sang two hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Pallbearers were Frank Christensen, [?] Godwin, John Duncan, Jerry [?], Clyde Rose and Oscar Carlson. On the flower committee were Mrs. Frank Christensen and Mrs. Mable McCaskey. Burial was at the South Marion cemetery.

Clifford Vernon Nostrom, son of Victor E. and Matilda [Jones] Nostrom, was born at Pilot Mound, Iowa, June 21, 1903 and died at Boone, Iowa, May 23, 1964 at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He was united in marriage to Hazel Fern Swanson at Boone, Iowa, June 24, 1937 and to this union two children were born.

Mr. Nostrom was self employed. He was a member of the Swedish Mission Church at Pilot Mound.

He was preceded in death by his father, Victor E. Nostrom, and by an infant son, Gary.

Survivors include his widow, Hazel Fern; a daughter, Kay Marie; his mother Matilda Nostrom of Boone; two sisters, Mrs. V.L. Shelley and Mrs. Gladys Shelley, both of Des Moines; and two brothers, Maurice of Humboldt, Iowa, and Lannis Nostrom of Plymouth, Iowa.
