Death of Pioneer Citizen

Mrs. Nels Nelson died quite suddenly here Saturday. Mrs. Nelson had been ailing nearly all summer and since July 1st had been confined to her bed most of the time. Death was due to complications of diseases. Her passing will make sorrowful many people who have known and loved her. Sympathy is being extended to the bereaved daughters who survive. Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock conducted by Rev. Callerstrom of Ogden. She was 69 years old.

OBITUARY
Nelson

Johanna Sofia Nelson, nee Johansson, was born at Alseda, Småland, Sweden, February 1, 1851 [1850], and died at her home here October 16, 1920 at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 16 days.

She came to America in 1882 and was united in marriage to Nels Nelson, February 11, 1885. Following their marriage they moved to a farm near Jefferson and a few years later moved to a farm south of Stratford where they lived until eleven years ago when they moved into Stratford.

The husband and father passed away here three years ago.

Deceased was confirmed in Sweden in 1866 and was a staunch Christian woman and a member of the local Lutheran church. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Misses Hilda and Hannah, two sisters, one brother and other relatives, besides a host of friends and fond acquaintances.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Lutheran church in charge of Rev. Callerstrom of Ogden and the remains laid to rest in South Marion cemetery.
