Mary Pauline Nelson, 87, of Stratford, Iowa, entered into rest on Monday morning, December 4, 2006 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa.

She was born on July 22, 1919 in Lincoln, Nebraska the daughter of George and Verna (Gant) Brehm. Pauline was second in a family of 5 children. Her childhood was spent in Fort Dodge where she graduated in 1937.

On April 13, 1941, she married Norman Nelson at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Boone.

The couple farmed south of Stratford and owned a fiberglass business. Upon retirement, they moved to Stratford where she continued to enjoy gardening, quilting, volunteering in the community and church, and spending time with friends and family.

She was a member of the South Marion United Methodist Church.

Her parents, husband, Norman, in January of 1989, 1 sister, 3 brothers, and 2 great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Judy (Peter) Emanuel of Williamsburg, VA, Marilyn (Terry) Kislingbury of Boone, IA, Kathy (Larry) Miller of Grant City, MO, 1 son, Edward (Karen) Nelson of Stratford, IA, 14 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday morning, December 8th at 10:00 A.M. at the South Marion United Methodist Church south of Stratford with Pastor Remigio Panlaqui and Lay Minister Gina Spohnheimer officiating.

Interment will be in South Marion Cemetery south of Stratford, Iowa.

Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and Friday morning at the Church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.

The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. to greet friends.

Memorials may be given to the South Marion United Methodist Church.
