John Nelson died very suddenly at the farm home of his brother, Elmer, south of Stratford Sunday morning. He was sick but a few hours and died before medical aid could be summoned. The cause of his death was gallstones with other complications.

Deceased was born in Småland, Sweden November 23, 1879 and died December 15, 1918, aged 39 years and 22 days. He came to America in 1899 and lived at Altoona, Ills., for a year, he then went to Moline, Ills., where he resided five years, going then to Los Angeles, California, where he was united in marriage to Miss Hildur Nyberg of Moline, Ills. They lived in Los Angeles for eleven years, moving to Moline, Ills., eighteen months ago and remained through the winter after which they moved to Stratford.

He leaves a sadly bereaved wife and two daughters, Eleanor, 9 years and Violet, 8 years old. Also his parents who live in Sweden, four brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the M.E. church in California.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the South Marion Methodist Church in charge of the pastor, Rev. Carl Jensen, and the remains laid to rest in the South Marion Cemetery.
