April 10, 1969Hilda Nelson Dies at 83
STRATFORD - Miss Hilda Nelson, 83, a longtime resident of the Stratford community, died Wednesday evening at the Boone County hospital after a lingering illness.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran church with Pastor Anton Youngquist officiating and with burial in the South Marion cemetery. The Hanson Funeral home of Stratford is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Nelson was born at Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of Nels and Sophia [Johansson] Nelson and moved to the Stratford community with her parents in 1896. She was educated in the Stratford schools.
She was a school teacher for about 15 years after which time she resided at home due to ill health. She was a member of the Stratford Lutheran church.
