Clifford A. Neese, 80, lifelong Stratford area resident, died Tues., Jan. 29.

Services will be held Thurs., Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Stratford with the Rev. Dennis Schoolfield officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery near Stratford.

Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon.

He is survived by one son, Paul of Stratford, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Pamela) Bloomquist of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Tom (Katherine) Reed of Boone; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three nephews.

Clifford Neese was born Jan. 16, 1905 at Stratford to Clarence and Emily Westrum Neese. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1921 and Forest College in Des Moines in 1923.

On June 29, 1928, he married Mabel Crouse at Stratford. He farmed in the area until his retirement.

He was a member of Stratford First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister and one grandchild.
