Gust Johnson Dies Wednesday

Gust A. Johnson, 79, route 4, Boone, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, at his home following a lingering illness.

Survivors include his widow, Hilma [Olander]; 4 sons, C. Reuben Johnson and Delmer G. Johnson, both of Stratford, Vernon Johnson of Boone, and Chief Master Sgt. George H. Johnson, who is stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Goose Bay, Labrador; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lester (Ellen) Rosengreen of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. John (Ruth) Carpenter of Boone; 1 sister, Amanda Carlson of Sweden; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Mineral Ridge Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Krell, officiating. A prayer service for relatives will be held at the family home at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Funeral Home from Friday morning until Saturday noon, when the body will be taken to the church.

Memorials may be given to the Mineral Ridge Baptist Church.
