G.O. JOHNSON DIED TUESDAY

STRATFORD - Garrett Oscar Johnson, 69, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Calvary Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Phelps officiating. Burial will be made in the South Marion Cemetery with military rites at graveside. The body will lie in state at the Hanson Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was a retired farmer, having been born and raised in the Stratford community. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Orland Johnson of Stratford, Phillip Johnson of Stanhope, and Marvin Johnson of Stratford; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marcella) Bergman of Traer, Iowa, Mrs. Marvin (Shirley) Vinchattle of Stratford and Mrs. Vern (Phyllis) Peterson of Wathena, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Etta Eisenhart, Fullerton, Calif.
