M. Maxine Johnson, age 74, of Stratford, died August 7, 1991 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. She was born April 1, 1917 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Edith (Seeley) Miller.

On October 3, 1937 she married Frank Johnson in Stratford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one brother.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice Wiley of Glendale, Heights, Illinois; one son, Noel of Marion, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen Page of Vincent, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on August 10 at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery.

Organist was Dixie Johnson and soloists were Pastor Annett and Dave Kruse. They sang "In the Garden" and "On Eagles Wings."

Pall Bearers were Jeffrey Johnson, Craig Johnson, James Wiley, Scott Roy, Burton Patterson and Rick Woodard.

Rhonda Patterson headed the flower committee.
