OBITUARY

MRS. ANDREW E. JOHNSON

Carrie Cecelia Norman was born at Dayton, Iowa, May 19, 1883 and departed from this life at her home near Stratford, on December 25th, 1957, at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 6 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Swedish Methodist Episcopal Church in Dayton, Iowa and on February 2, 1913 she united with the South Marion Methodist Church, where she has been a faithful member until the time of her death.

She received her education in the Dayton Schools and taught for several years in the rural schools in Webster County.

On July 24, 1907, she was united in marriage to Andrew E. Johnson at Dayton, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, three of whom died in infancy. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, a half brother and one grandson, Daryll Keith Johnson.

Those left to mourn her passing, are her husband, Andrew E. Johnson, two sons, Glenn N. Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Lester R. Johnson, Stratford, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Wanlund (Velva) of Hazelcrest, Illinois and Mrs. Charles Magnuson (Wyona) of Stanhope, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Norman and Donald Johnson, Marlin, Elaine and Paul Johnson, LeRoy, Dale, John and LaVonne Wanlund, Ronald and Roberta Magnuson, sister-in-law, Mrs. Hannah Waller of Stratford, Iowa, Mrs. Charles Hatcher of Des Moines, a niece who has been especially close to her aunt, and other nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

Mrs. Johnson was a patient and devoted mother, and was especially interested in the welfare of her family, warm hearted to her relatives and friends as well as devoted and loyal to her church, and a neighbor to all. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Services were held from the South Marion Church Friday, December 27, at 2 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Reverend F.M. Garrett. The Hymns, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Norman Erickson and Mrs. Verlyn Fry, accompanied by Mrs. Vincel Crim at the organ.

Those in charge of the flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Monson and Mr. and Mrs. Halbert Crim. The Bearers were, Floyd Swedlund, Fred Patterson, Edgar Crim, Norman Nelson, Herschel Anderson and Severt Crim. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery.
