Ruby Jacobson, 100, Stratford, died Sunday, January 7, 2001 at the Stratford Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Dale Schoening and Gina Spohnheimer, lay pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery, east of Stratford. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time.

Ruby Elizabeth Crim, daughter of John and Betsy Mathre Crim, was born Jan. 18, 1900 on a farm near Ridgeport, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Boone and Hamilton Counties and high school at Story City. She taught in rural schools in that area. She also attended Iowa State College for two years. On Feb. 24, 1926, she married Victor Carl Jacobson at Stratford. The couple farmed in the Boone area, and then moved to a farm southeast of Stanhope. For 36 years, they farmed southeast of Stanhope. Mr. Jacobson died April 28, 1969 and she continued to reside on the family farm until 1988, when she moved to Boone. She had resided at the Stratford Care Center since the fall of 1997.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Harvey Pederson of Thompson, Ilene and Calvin Kunin of Columbus, Oh., grandchildren,, Paul, Carl and David Pederson and Janet Pederson-Lemke, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters, Lola Crim of Boone, Helen Bergman of Stratford, brothers, Severt Crim of Stratford, Charles Crim of Boone and Halbert Crim of Stanhope; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith Crim and Genevieve Cameron, brothers, Floyd and Edgar Crim.

She was a member of the South Marion United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher, church organizations in South Marion and St. Paul's Women's Group, Women's Farm Bureau and a charter member of the Ever Welcome Class at the South Marion church.
