V.C. JACOBSON DIES AT 72

Victor C. Jacobson, 72, longtime resident of the Stanhope community, died suddenly early this morning at his farm home southeast of Stanhope. His death was attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the South Marion United Methodist Church near Stratford. The Rev. Robert B. Winter will officiate with burial being in the South Marion Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Victor Carl Jacobson, son of Andrew and Hulda Anderson Jacobson, was born Sept. 17, 1896, on a farm north of Boone. He was reared and educated in the Boone community.

He was united in marriage Feb. 24, 1926, to Ruby Crim, and the couple farmed one year in Boone County, moving then to a farm near Stratford, where they resided for six years. For the past 36 years, they had farmed in the Stanhope community.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Marjorie) Pederson of Thompson, Iowa, and Mrs. Ilene Robinson of Davenport; four grandchildren, Paul, Janet, Carl and David Pederson; one brother, Martin Jacobson of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Roy (Elsie) Lindmark, Miss Lillian Jacobson, Rudy and Lloyd Jacobson.

Mr. Jacobson was a member of the South Marion United Methodist Church and had served in several church offices. He has been a member of the former East Marion Band, and was a member of the Stanhope Lions Club and a former director of the Farmers Co-op Elevator at Stanhope. He was also a former board member of the Stanhope Telephone Co.
