John Hubner

John Hubner was born in Schuby, Schleswig Germany, March 12, 1858 and died at his home in Stratford May 23, 1931, at the age of 73 yers, 2 months, 11 days.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon with a brief prayer service at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church and were in charge of the Rev. A.E. Appelquist, pastor of the Baptist church. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery.

Deceased grew to manhood in his native land and came to America in the spring of 1880 and settled in Clinton county. Two years later he came to this county and had since made his home here. He was united in marriage to Anna M. Wiem on Feb. 22, 1887 and to this union two children were born, Albert and Rudy both of whom live here.

He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith while living in Germany. In the spring of 1914 he and his wife moved to Stratford where they have since resided.

He was not been in the best of health since he suffered a stroke of paralysis two years ago but he had been able to be up and about each day. On Saturday morning his wife went to his room to call him and found that he had died some time during the night.

Those who survive are his wife and two sons, two grandchildren, Leo and Audrey Hubner, a brother and sister in Germany, one brother, Peter Hubner, and one sister, Mrs. John Huebner, both of Pipestone, Minn.
