STRATFORD - Mrs. Helen Mae Housberg, 67, Stratford, died at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames Monday. She had been a patient there the past three and one-half weeks.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the South Marion United Methodist church with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating and with burial in South Marion cemetery. Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral home in Stratford on Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley of Stanhope and Donald of Webster City; one brother, Earl Patterson of Boone; one sister, Maurine Donnell of South Portland, Maine; and several grandchildren.

She was born Jan. 4, 1908, in Stratford, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Patterson. On Nov. 29, 1939, she was married to Roy Housberg at the South Marion United Methodist parsonage. She was a school teacher in Stratford for nine years. She and her husband operated an antique shop south of Stanhope for several years.

She was a member of the senior citizens at Stanhope, the O.A.Y Birthday group at Stratford and was a member of the South Marion church and also belonged to a church circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died Nov. 18, 1973; also by one brother and one sister.
