Hans J. Hanson

Hans Hanson was born in Ostra Fors, Malungs parish, Dalarna, Sweden, Sept. 12, 1862. He came to America in the spring of 1881 and for many years operated a farm in this community with his sister Carrie. Twelve years ago brother and sister moved into Stratford and two years ago Miss Carrie preceded her brother in death.

Deceased had been in failing health for some time and had been cared for in the Gust Lundquist home the past five months. Their patient and kindly care given him made his last months of life pleasant and comfortable.

He died Wednesday, June 9, at 5 a.m. at the age of 74 years, 8 months, 21 days. He leaves eight nieces and 9 nephews to mourn his death.

The funeral service was held in the Gust Lundquist home Friday afternoon, June 11, and was in charge of the Rev. Stanley Jensen, pastor of the South Marion Methodist Church. Interment was in the South Marion Cemetery. The pallbearers were Jonas Westrum, Floyd Ferlen, Charley Teander, John A. Poulson, Henry Sweeney, of Boone, and Eric Lundquist.
