Miss Carrie Hanson

Carrie Hanson was born in Ostra Fors, Malungs socken, Dalarna, Sweden, May 27, 1851 and died in her home here Feb. 22, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, 15 days. She came to America in the spring of 1887 and settled with her brother, Hans, on a farm east of town where she lived for many years. Ten years ago she moved with her brother into Stratford where she had lived ever since. The last few years her health had been failing, confining her to her home most of the time. While living on the farm and so long as her health permitted it she frequently attended the South Marion Methodist Church services.

She was of a very industrious nature and had a kind and unassuming disposition, being friendly with everyone.

She leaves to mourn her death, her brother, Hans, of Stratford, eight nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the local Baptist church and were conducted by the pastor the Rev. A.E. Appelquist. The church choir rendered several selections and following the service the remains were taken to the South Marion Cemetery for interment. The pallbearers were J.A. Poulson, Carl Bergman, Erick Lindquist, George Vedeen, Nels Westrum.
