Obituary

IRMA R. GABRIELSON

Irma R. Gabrielson, 79, Stratford, died Thursday Jan. 8 at the Hamilton County Hospital. She was born February 13, 1901, in Stratford, the daughter of Tom and Winifred [Chamberlain] Hakes. She married Martin Paul Gabrielson, April 2, 1923, at Stratford.

Mrs. Gabrielson attended Stratford Schools and graduated in 1920. She attended Cedar Falls Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in the rural schools and for 20 years she was also involved in home decorating. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include a son, Donald of Huston, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. C. Arvid (Ila) Anderson, Mrs. Bertil (Donna) Carlberg and Mrs. Raymond (Marlene) Young, all of Stratford; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10 at 10 am. at the Calvary United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Russell officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday at the church until time of the service.
