Alberta G. Ewing passed away November 5, 2005 in Camarillo, CA after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford, IA at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005 - phone number, 515-838-2325.

Alberta was born on August 10, 1918 in Stratford, IA to Jonas O. and Ica Cora (Neese) Westrum. She married Howard E. Ewing on February 15, 1937 in Des Moines, IA. They resided in the Stanhope/Stratford area as farmers until 1961 when they moved to Creston, IA. When they retired from farming, they moved to Cedar Rapids, IA where they owned a horse stable for a period of time. In 1988, they moved back to Stanhope, IA.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Eldon, Harold and Martin Westrum; two sisters, Ruby Erickson and Opal Crim; and two sons, William H. and Nicholas M. Ewing. Alberta is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Charles Pearson of Camarillo, CA; four grandchildren, Matt and Mark Pearson of Bend, OR, Eric Ewing, and Sarah Murphy of Cedar Rapids, IA; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford, Iowa at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2005. Phone 515-838-2325.

In lieu of flowers, reach out and help someone. Alberta reached out to people in need all of her life. She lived each day with laughter, cheer and good humor and would want you to do the same.
