Funeral services were held Monday, May 4, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford for Emil Erickson, 85. The Reverend Richard Russell officiated and graveside services were held in South Marion Cemetery. Mr. Erickson was killed in an automobile accident on April 20, 1987.

Mr. Erickson was born November 11, 1901 in Stratford. The son of Nels and Clara (Berglund) Erickson, he farmed outside of Stratford most of his life.

On Aug. 14, 1954 he married Alpha Lariece Hoag of Fort Dodge who preceded him in death in 1958.

He is survived by his son, Mark of Stratford; a stepdaughter, Donna Hoag Kemp and her three children, Anastasia, Otto and Katie of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Waller Erickson and Arvid Erickson, both of Stratford; and sisters, Mrs. Tilford (Alice) Enderson of Stanhope and Mrs. Leonard (Alma) Wing of Marshall, Minnesota and nieces and nephews.
