She reared a large and successful family and was a faithful woman who met all the responsibilities that came to her in her home, from her family, from her community and from her church.

Charlotte Gustafson, daughter of John and Matilda Gustafson, was born April 5, 1881, near Stratford, where she grew to young womanhood.

Nov. 4, 1908, she married to Oscar Erickson at Stratford and they moved to their farm southwest of Stanhope where they had since lived.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Martin. She leaves her husband, four sons and three daughters, Alice, Elmer, Virgil, Edna May and Roberta of Stanhope, and Herbert and George of Stratford. There are three stepsons, Floyd and Norman of Stratford, and Carl of Stanhope, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Carl D. Anderson of Stanhope.

She also leaves twelve grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Matilda Gustafson of Stratford; three brothers, Charlie of Des Moines, Henry and Rudolph of Stratford, and a sister, Mrs. John Erickson of Stanhope.
