Stratford Courier, Stratford, Iowa, May 21, 1997

STRATFORD-Edgar Crim, 95, Stratford, died May 15, 1997, at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the South Marion Church, south of Stratford with the Rev. Sue Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home, Webster City from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday morning at the church.

Survivors include son Alton, Webster City; daughters Virginia Duecker, Cedar Rapids; Lois Davis, San Diego, Calif; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Jacobson and Lola Crim, both of Boone; Helen Bergman, Stratford; brothers Charles, Boone; Severt, Stratford; Halbert, Stanhope; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; son Vincel; his parents; brother Floyd; sisters Edith Crim and Genevieve Camaron.

Edgar Alvin Crim was born August 12, 1901, on a farm north of Boone. He attended rural Webster County schools. In 1925, he married Opal Westrum at Boone. The couple farmed south of Stratford. Mrs. Crim died in June of 1954. He continued to farm and retired in 1992.

He was a member of the South Marion Church, a church board member for 43 years, a Stratford Co-op Elevator board member for 15 years and a county court house building committee member.
