Marilyn A. (Carlson) Crawford, age 61, of Hiwasse, Arkansas, died Monday, February 26, 1996 at her home. She was born March 28, 1934, in Stratford, Iowa, to Glen H. and Alice Fisher Carlson.

She graduated from Randall High School in Randall, Iowa. Following graduation she took up various careers including; professional seamstress, cake decorating, Chef at Jewell Manor in Jewell, Iowa, as well as various sororities and fraternities at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, several restaurants include the Sheldon Munn Motel. She also owned and operated a kennel for many years.

She enjoyed various hobbies including artistry, ceramics, rug weaving, embroidery, painting and was a 4-H leader for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde B. Crawford at home, one daughter, Susan Keasey of Bentonville, Arkansas; three brothers, Alan L. Carlson of Dyersville, Iowa, Gary H. Carlson of Jewell, Iowa and Neil G. Carlson of Bentonville, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Michelle, Cherie and Sharon; two great-grandchildren, Adam and Jessica; three nephews and one niece.

Memorial services were held on March 4 at the United Lutheran Church in Bell Vista, Arkansas. A second memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stratford, Iowa with Rev. Tom Hungerford officiating. Interment will be in the South Marion Cemetery in Stratford, Iowa.
