Clyde Bennett Crawford, Bella Vista, Ark., died July 10, 2000 at Concordia Care Center. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at South Marion Cemetery near Stratford. Memorials may be sent to PO Box 2134, Bentonville, Ark., 72712 and to the Hiwasse Fire Dept. Hiwasse, Ark. 72739.

Clyde Bennett Crawford, son of Bennett and Essie Crawford, was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, where he graduated from high school. He moved to Portland, Ore., where he worked in a shipyard building tankers in World War II. He was the retired chef of the Sheldon Munn Hotel in Ames. After moving to Arkansas in 1980, he was the chef for Bella Vista Country Club for five years, and for the Ramada Inn and other restaurants in Arkansas until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and his wife, Marilyn Carlson Crawford.

Survivors are his daughter, Susan Keasey of Bentonville, Ark., three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
