Funeral services for Robert A. Coursen were held at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Boone, Ia., Monday, Sept. 26, 1960, with the Rev. A.M. Crawley officiating.

Two hymns were sung, a duet "We Are Going Down the Valley" by Eugene (Bud) Myers and James (Jim) Myers, accompanied by Mrs. Norman Erickson and a duet "Beyond the Sunset" by Mrs. A.M. Crawley and Mrs. Glen Mayer, accompanied by Mrs. Glen Mayer.

Pallbearers were William Lingwall, William Larson, Emory Gustafson, Cyrus Nordblom, Norman Erickson and Ben Cassity.

Robert A. Coursen was born in Branchville, N.J., Nov. 28, 1881 and died at the Delt Nursing Home in Webster City, Ia., Sept. 21, 1960, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 7 days.

He was united in marriage to Anna Barden in 1907, who preceded him in death and to this union three children were born.

He was united in marriage to Miriam Dahl in 1924, at Willmar, Minn. She also preceded him in death. Mr. Coursen was raised in Bethel, N.Y. He resided in Boone, Ia., for about eight years where he attended the Church of the Open Bible.

Mr. Coursen was an electrician and a veteran of World War I, he was a Master Sargent in the U.S. Army and had completed 22 years, 2 months and 23 days in the service of his country.

He is survived by one son, William E. Coursen of Bridgeport, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Clark (Gladys) Wilmot of Harpersville, New York, and Mrs. Richard (Violet) Peterson of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Edith Clark of Monticello, New York; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.
