ILLNESS FATAL TO LOCAL MAN

Services for H.C. Kiesecker to Be at McCauley-Chapman's

ILL THREE WEEKS

Henry C. Kiesecker, 70, a widely known local resident, died at his home, 1137 Third street, yesterday afternoon, death being caused by pernicious anemia. He had been ill about three weeks.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the McCauley-Chapman funeral home under the auspices of the Christian Science church. Burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

Henry C. Kiesecker, son of John and Justina Kiesecker, was born March 24, 1867 at Burlington, Iowa. At the age of seven he came with his parents to a farm in Wright county. The trip was made in a covered wagon.

Some years later the family moved to Hamilton county and located on a small acreage one and a half miles north of Webster City. There he grew to young manhood and was confirmed in the German Lutheran church. Years later he and his wife united with the Christian Science church.

At the age of 19 he began to learn the carpenter trade under Mr. McFerren and he had followed this trade continuously up to the time of his illness. He had built many houses, barns and store buildings in and around Hamilton county.

Oct. 17, 1892 he was united in marriage to Minnie Sylvia Jones. After his marriage he and his wife lived on the little acreage north of Webster City five years, moving from there to town. They built the home where they had since lived and where Mr. Kiesecker died.

To this union two children were born, a son, Roy Kiesecker, this city, and a daughter, Mrs. Ben Segar, Woolstock.

Mr. Kiesecker was a loving husband, a kind father and a good citizen. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two children, eight grandchildren, one brother, John Kiesecker, this city, and three sisters, Minnie Meyers, this city; Lizzie Hydick, this city, and Mrs. Mary Walker, Logan. There are also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
