John Kiesecker, 90, former resident of the Webster City community, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday at his home in Clear Lake Highlands, Calif., following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Paul Clement officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

John Kiesecker, son of John and Justina Kiesecker, was born March 9, 1869, at Burlington, Iowa. When he was five years old, he came to Iowa with his brother, by covered wagon, locating in Wright county. Several years later, they moved to a farm north of Webster City, where he grew to young manhood.

He was united in marriage March 6, 1901 to Minnie Klein. Following their marriage, they purchased 25 acres one mile north of Webster City and built their home there, residing there until 1957, when they moved to California. For several years, Mr. Kiesecker served as county road foreman. He also engaged in carpentry work with his brother, Henry, and operated a threshing run with a nephew, Pete Meyers.

Mr. Kiesecker is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter: Dr. Frank Kiesecker and Mrs. Marie Merritt, both of Clear Lake Highlands, California; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Walker of Logan, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose, who died in infancy; by his parents, four sisters and one brother.

Mr. Kiesecker was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
