Webster City Tribune, Webster City, Iowa, Friday, June 17, 1904

Francis Irvin Cash was born on Nov. 20, 1832 at the town of Danville, Hendricks county, Indiana, where he lived until he was nineteen years of age, when he removed to Iowa, driving the entire distance with an ox team. He first located at Sigourney, Iowa, and from there he removed to Winterset, Iowa, having been married in the meantime to Mary E. McMullen. There were six children born to them, two dying in infancy. He resided in Winterset for eleven years with the exception of two years, which were spent as sutler in the army.

From Winterset he removed to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he lived for two years, being employed at the Cedar Falls woolen mills.

He was married to Miss Nancy Johnson of Marble Rock, Iowa, and came to Webster City in the spring of 1869 and located permanently here in April. His wife dying in 1881, left him with three small children.

The following immediate relatives survive him: His wife, Harriet J. Cash; J.L. Cash, Superior, Wis.; Mrs. Mary Michaels, Ackley, Ia.; T.I. Cash, St. Paul, Minn.; Jennie M. Cash, Winterset, Ia.; Maude A. Cash, Fred F. Cash, Emma M. Cash.

F.I. Cash at the time of his death was the oldest continuous business man in Webster City, having been in business here for 35 years. He had been in the tailoring business for 55 years.

At the time of his death he was 71 years, 6 months and 23 days old.
