Harlan G. Weir, 37, a longtime resident of the Webster City community, died Saturday evening at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage suffered earlier in the day at his home near Duncombe.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Woolstock with Rev. Donald Mann officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church.

Harlan Guy Weir, son of Spencer and Gladys Scott Weir, was born Jan. 8, 1933 at Webster City. He attended the Webster City schools and was graduated in 1952.

He was united in marriage Jan. 8, 1956 to Georgene Schaumburg, and the couple had farmed in the Duncombe community, with Mr. Weir also being employed by the Fred Hahne Printing Co. in Webster City.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter and two sons: Debra Jean, 13, Craig Harlan, 11 and Brian Guy, eight; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Weir; his grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Scott of Webster City; three brothers and one sister, Wayne Weir, Webster City, Wendell Weir of Houston, Tex., Donald Weir of Des Moines and Mrs. Joe (Helen) Freeman of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Weir was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church in Woolstock.
