Funeral services for Fred W. Eggers, 70, who died of a heart attack while driving his car at noon yesterday will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Lutheran church.

A brief service at 1:45 p.m. at the family home, 833 Bank street, will precede the church services. The Rev. H.H. Schauland will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Fred William Eggers, the son of Fred and Carolina Eggers, was born Sept. 15, 1882 in Meriden, Conn. In 1887 he came to Iowa and the family located on a farm southwest of Webster City. He was reared and educated in the Webster City community.

He was united in marriage Feb. 21, 1911 at Webster City with Augusia Buettner. The couple began housekeeping on a farm northeast of Webster City and in 1917 moved to a farm southwest of the city, residing there until 1942 when they retired and moved into Webster City.

He is survived by one son and six daughters: Donald of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Charles (Helen) Chalfant, Webster City; Mrs. Harold (Marian) Jeske, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Evelyn of Omaha, Nebr.; Lois of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Duane (Eleanor) Wehrman, Luzerne, and Gertrude, at home.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Richard and Donald Chalfant and Beth Jeske. Two brothers and two sisters, Charles and William and Mrs. A.G. Lohman and Miss Minnie Eggers, all of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died July 7, 1951, one daughter, Ruth; his parents and one sister.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church here.

He was a kind and loving father and his main interests in life were his home, his family and his church.
