Rich Van Langen, 80, Jewell
Richard Lyle Van Langen, 80 of Jewell died April 30, 2017 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will follow in the Homewood cemetery near Ellsworth. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 at Elim Lutheran Church.

Rich was born on December 9, 1936 in Hamilton county to Benhard and Ethelyn (Richardson) Van Langen. He married June Stuhmer on May 26, 1957. Rich was a farmer and he and June managed Jewell Distributing for many years. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and enjoyed golfing.

Rich is survived by his wife June of Jewell; two sons, Doug (Konni) Van Langen of Ellsworth and Charles Van Langen of Jewell; a daughter, Darla Delehoy of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Ceara, Shea, Nick, Tana, Colin and Emma; and a brother, Leland Van Langen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Van Langen; a daughter-in-law, Lorna Van Langen and two grandsons, Travis James [Van Langen] and Tjay Scott [Van Langen].

Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.
