Roger A. Mueller, age 77, of Hayward, WI passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Golden Living Valley of Hayward Nursing Home.

Roger Allen Mueller was born May 26, 1939 in Sidney, NE the son of Carl and Amanda (Mangels) Mueller. He attended school in Wykoff, MN and graduated from high school there in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army on April 14, 1959 and served during the Vietnam War and served two years of active duty and then three years in the U.S. Army Reserves. After his time in the service Roger attended St. John's Hospital training program where he met Georgiann M. Schwab. On June 5, 1965 Roger was joined in marriage to Georgiann at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Roger completed his schooling to become an X-Ray Technician and he and Georgiann moved to Webster City, Iowa where Roger worked for Hamilton County Public Hospital from 1965 to 1990. He also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician while living in Iowa. In 1990, Roger and Georgiann moved to Hayward, WI and Roger continued as an X-Ray Technician for Hayward Area Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 2004. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood and leather working, and competing in black powder competitions. He loved his family and doing remodel jobs on his own homes. He will be remembered for his patient teaching style, continued optimism no matter the situation, good sense of humor, and his big hugs. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward.

Roger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Georgiann; daughter, Ann Mueller of Hayward; son, Christopher (Kelly) Mueller of Hayward; two grandchildren, Carl and Hunter; two great grandchildren, Lilianna and Luna; two brothers, Donald (Marlene) Mueller of San Antonio, TX, Roger Mueller of St. Paul, MN; brother-in-law, Charles Schwab of Hugo, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amanda Henson.

A funeral service celebrating Roger's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI with Pastor Mark Triplett officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A private interment with military honors will be held at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
