Dolores Riley, 70, of Altus, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Altus, Oklahoma on Saturday, March 25th at 3:00 pm. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery.
Dolores Arlene Orton was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Dale and Dorothy Orton on February 27, 1947. She graduated from Webster City High School in Webster City, Iowa in 1965. Dolores married Ron Riley in Webster City in 1968 and had 2 children and later they divorced. Dolores resided much of her adult life in Colorado Springs, Colorado later moving to Middlesex, North Carolina and most recently had been living in Altus, Oklahoma.
Dolores is survived by her children, Michelle (Ed) Hicks of Middlesex, North Carolina and Brad (Andrea) Riley of Altus, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Breanna Riley of Middlesex, North Carolina and Myranda, Macyna & Caden Riley of Altus, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter Kaylee Riley of Middlesex, North Carolina; brothers Dale Orton of Chicago, Illinois and David (Diane) Orton of Webster City, Iowa; sisters Darlene (Larry) Hatcher of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Diane Knudsen of Webster City, and Donna (Dave) Scott of Granger, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Mike Knudsen.
Dolores enjoyed a love for music and sewing and was a huge Denver Broncos fan. She had a welcoming spirit and anyone she met became a member of her family even becoming an adopted mom to many of the cadets at the Colorado Springs Air Force Academy. Her love for life and faith in God guided her throughout her life. Dolores cherished her family and most of all she adored her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter - they were her everything. She will be greatly missed by all.
