Mildred Crawford, 86, Webster City, died May 27, 1993 at Crestview Manor. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cass Center Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Foster Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Mildred Mae Shafer, daughter of Edmund and Matie (Doolittle) Shafer, was born Feb. 19, 1907 in Webster City. She attended rural schools, graduating from Webster City High School in 1927. For several years, she was employed by Spurgeons.

On Sept. 24, 1955, she married Jacob Crawford in Webster City. The couple farmed near Iowa Falls and moved into Iowa Falls in 1966. Her husband died September 1973. She has resided at Crestview Manor for several years.

She is survived by step-children and their spouses, Howard and Evelyn Crawford of Cedar Rapids, Nancy and Rex Mead of Mountain Home, Ark.; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Hamman of Webster City; half-brother, Ralph Shafer of Kansas; three nieces and two nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother.

She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Ellis United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls.
