DEATH OF MRS. E.J. SHAFFER

Died at Her Home 7 Miles Northeast of This City on Saturday Morning at 7 O'clock

WAS SICK BUT FOUR DAYS

Died of Childbirth and Pneumonia - Child is Reported as Doing Well

Mrs. E.J. Shaffer died at her home in Blairsburg township, seven miles northeast of this city, Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, after an illness of but four day's duration, of childbirth and pneumonia.

Deceased was a daughter of A.C. [Arthur Clayton and Harriet Thompson] Doolittle, one of the prominent and well known farmers of northeast Hamilton county. She was married to E.J. Shaffer on February 15, 1897, and was the mother of three children - the infant born Saturday and Pearl and Mildred. Besides her children she leaves a husband, father, mother and two sisters. The sisters are Mrs. A.T. Miller of Blairsburg township and Miss Elva Doolittle, who lives with her parents.

The little one born Saturday is doing well.

Mrs. Shaffer was a general favorite in the community where she has lived many years and her sudden and untimely death has cast a deep gloom over the neighborhood.

The funeral was held this afternoon and the remains laid at rest in the Cass Center cemetery.
