Ralph Vernon Peters, 42, was found dead Sunday noon at his home, 820 Stockdale street, apparently having taken his own life by hanging sometime Saturday.

The body was discovered in the basement of the home by a brother, Victor, who called authorities. Dr. Sam I. Kuramoto, county coroner, and Sheriff E.R. Lear and deputies, investigated.

Peters' father, Julius A. Peters, 74, was found dead here March 5 under similar circumstances.

Funeral services for Ralph Vernon Peters will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home, with burial in Graceland cemetery. The Rev. Arthur Oswald will officiate.

Ralph Vernon Peters, son of Julius and Mary Wood Peters, was born July 7, 1926 at Tipton, Mo. When he was 11 years old he moved with his parents to Iowa, locating in Webster City. He attended the Webster City schools and grew to young manhood in this community.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Verle (Evelyn) Kruger; his brother, Victor Peters, both of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
