Helena "Lee" McGilligan, 88, of Webster City, died Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Crestview Senior Living. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. John Flaherty, celebrant.

Helena Marie Frekey, daughter of John and Michaelene Maczukiewicz Frekey, was born August 18, 1917 at Dickson, Pa. She received her education in the Scranton, Pa schools. On August 12, 1936, she married John Hall McGilligan at New York City, N.Y. The couple resided at New York City and worked in the restaurant business until 1952 when they moved to Webster City. With her husband, they owned and operated McGilligan's Restaurant. They retired in 1970. They continued to reside at Webster City and wintered at West Palm Beach, FL. Mr. McGilligan died July 24, 1983.

Mrs. McGilligan is survived by daughter-in-law, Chris McGilligan of Webster City, grandchildren, John McGilligan of Sidney; Michael and Lorie McGilligan of Webster City, Matthew McGilligan of Tombstone, AZ., Debra McGilligan of Webster City, great-grandchildren, Jessica, Destiny and Colton, niece, Bonnie Steffens of Storm Lake.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Mick McGilligan and her parents.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
