Wm. H. Steinbruch, 70, of 945 Bank St., prominent Webster City banker, died at noon Saturday at Dickinson County hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been taken ill while at Lake Okoboji. He and his wife were enroute to visit relatives in northwestern Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Raymond Roden officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church.

Wm. Henry Steinbruch, son of Henry and Louise Stoffer Steinbruch, was born May 28, 1906 at Itzenhoe, Germany. When he was four years old, he came with his parents to the United States and located at Sioux Center, Iowa, where he was reared and educated.

He was employed for the Quaker Oats Co. at Rock Rapids, Iowa, from 1923 to 1940. He was married June 7, 1933 to Hedwig Marie Baumgartner.

On May 5, 1940, the family moved to Webster City and he had been employed ever since at the First State bank. He was serving as senior vice president for the bank at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter, Larry Steinbruch, Webster City, and Mrs. Ron (Mary) Kolberg, Webster City, one brother, Alfred Steinbruch of El Reno, Okla., and 15 nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, was a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge, AF and AM, and a former longtime member of the Kiwanis club.
