Mae E. Sterling, 93, longtime Webster City resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, where she had been a patient for five days. Private family services will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, Rev. Vernon Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at Foster's will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6.

Mae Elizabeth Arnold, daughter of Henry and Engelina Meyer Arnold, was born May 9, 1895 in Rantoul, Ill. She moved to Webster City with her family at the age of 4. She was educated in Webster City and in Minnesota, and always resided in Webster City. She operated a Buick car dealership in Webster City in 1934. She became a resident of Southfield Care Center in 1978.

She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Ladd, Webster City, and a son, Darol Sterling, Chula Vista, Calif., four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
