Funeral services for Mrs. Dale J. Wright, 84, a former longtime resident of the Stanhope community, who died Wednesday morning at the Stratford Care Center, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist church in Stanhope.

The Rev. David Burright will be officiating and burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home after 4 p.m. today until 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Dale J. Gould, daughter of John and Priscilla Gould, was born May 29, 1895, at Chase, Iowa. She attended schools at Richards, Iowa through the eighth grade, moving to Iowa City where she was graduated from high school. She attended the University of Iowa for three years as a home economics major and taught in the Iowa City school system for three years.

She was married to Roland Wright on Dec. 28, 1918 at Iowa City. The family moved to the Stanhope area and were engaged in farming until 1960 when Mr. Wright passed away. She then moved into Stanhope and resided there until August, 1978, when she entered the Stratford Care Center.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. Franklin (Kay) Campbell, Jr., of Clarion; two great-grandchildren, Lisa Kae Campbell and Mark William Campbell, both of Clarion; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Polock of Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, one daughter and 13 brothers and sisters.

She was a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist church at Stanhope.
